After darshan Sri Manneeswarar at Mannivakkam, joined the traffic on the main road to Padappai and after 2 KM took a diversion on Tiruvallur Road to reach Manimangalam. Even though I had been to these two temples after a long gap I am making this Tour. There is a lot of improvement in the temple. The temple was taken over by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). A permanent meikavalar was posted by ASI. Fence has been erected with gate and an ASI warning board. Kanchipuram area Sri Puttaparthi Sai Baba Devotees were doing uzhavarapani when I visited to this temple. A bus load of Lady devotees also visited this temple.

The temple is facing east with sanctum and mandapam and constructed like a mada koil. At the entrance Ganapathy and Subramaniyar are facing each other. There is no Rajagopuram, Dwajasthambam, Balipeedam and Rishabam originally. The Rishabam and Balipeedam are erected in the outer at a very latter state in front of Ambal temple. In Koshtam Vinayagar, Dakshinamurthy, Vishnu, Brahma and Durgai. Chandikeswarar looks cute with Jadamudi without mazhu in hand and posture is little different from other Chandikeswaras. Moolavar is little tall on a square avudayar.

Ambal is in a separate sannadhi without Gopuram. Looks with a childish face. It is believed that Ambal is very powerful. As per Gurukkal a girl has got her speech after worshipping Ambal of this temple.
In the outer prakaram sannadhi or Vinayagar, Bhairavar and Saneeswarar. In the mandapam sannidhi for Chandran, Suryan, Vinayagar, Sri Valli Devasena Subramaniar and Navagrahas. Some Hero stones also installed in side the temple. A separate post was written on these Hero Stones.
ARCHITECTURE
The Temple consists of Sanctum sanctorum, antarala, ardhamandapam and maha mandapam on a raised upanam and pada bandha adhistanam. From Upanam to prastaram the temple was constructed with stone. Kumba pancharas are between karnapathi and salai pathi. The prastaram consists of valapi and kapotam with nasi kudus. The Super structure above the prastaram is of gajaprishta style Vimanam built with bricks. The adhi tala is square in shape.

Chozhas, Pandyas and Vijayanagars had contributed for the construction of this temple. The main shrine was constructed by Chozhas with Gajaprista vimanam and front mandapam was built by Vijayanagaras and Ambal Sannidhi was built by Pandyas.
During Chozha Period this place was called as ChaturVedi mangalam, where 4 vedas were taught.
மணிமங்கலம் என்ற ஊர் ரத்னகிரஹார அல்லது ரத்னகிராமா என வடமொழியில் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மணி-ரத்னம் மங்கலம் கிராமம் கிராமமே ஊருமாகும்.
மணிமங்கலத்தில் உள்ள தர்மீஸ்வரர் கோயிலும் தொன்மை வாய்ந்தது. கஜபிருஷ்ட விமான அமைப்பில் உள்ளது கி பி ஆறாம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்த புடைப்புச் சிற்பத்தொகுதி ஒரு பலகைக் கல்லில் இருப்பது கண்டறியப்பட்டது தொண்டை மண்டலத்தில் நிலவிய முதன்மையான கடவுள் (தெய்வம்) வழிபாட்டு மரபுகளை அறிந்துகொள்ள இச்சிற்பத் தொகுதி துணைபுரிகிறது. உத்திரமேரூரிலும் இதுபோன்ற சிற்பம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது இக்கோயிலில் ஆறு கல்வெட்டுகளைத் தொல்லியல் துறை படியெடுத்துப் பதிப்பித்துள்ளது.
தன்மீச்வரமுடையார் எனக் கல்வெட்டுகளில் குறிக்கப்படும் இக்கோயில் கருவறை தென் புறச் சுவரில் சுந்தரபாண்டியருடைய 14 ஆவது ஆட்சியாண்டில் வெட்டப்பட்ட கல்வெட்டுள்ளது கோயில் பெண்டுகள், மக்களும் புத்திரபுத்திரருக்கும் படி வழங்க ஏற்பாடு செய்த கொடை இக்கல்வெட்டில் உள்ளது ஒவ்வொரு தேவரடியார்க்கும் ஒவ்வொரு பரோபகாரி கொடை வழங்க உடன்பட்டுள்ளனர். சான்றாகத் திருத்தொண்ட தொகைமாணிக்கத்தின் கொத்துக்கு ஒருவரும் (தொண்டைமானும், ஏகம்பத்து மாணிக்கத்தின் கொத்துக்கு இராசேந்திரசோழ வாணராயனும் இதேபோல பிறரும் உடன்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
பிற்காலச் சோழர், சம்புவரையர், பிற்காலப் பாண்டியர், கோப்பெருஞ்சிங்கள், தெலுங்குச் சோழன் ஆகியோருடைய ஆட்சியின்போது குறுநில மன்னனாகத் தொண்டை நாட்டின் வட பகுதியில் இருந்த நீலகங்கரையர் பல திருப்பணிகளில் ஈடுபட்டவர் இவர் ஒப்பம் இட்ட அரசாணை (கடிதம்) கோயில் தானத்தார்க்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்படுகிறது 12 வேலி நிலத்துடன் பல்வேறு வரிகளையும் இவர் கோயிலுக்கு அளித்துள்ளார்.
நீலகங்கரையன் போன்றே மதுராந்தக பொத்தப்பிச் சோழன் ஓலை (ஆணை) மணிமங்கலம் சபைக்கு அனுப்பிவைக்கிறார். 12 வேலி நிலமும் பல்வேறு வரிகளும் கோயில் திருப்பணிக்கு அளிந்துள்ளார். ஊருடன் கூட்டாது ஒழிவதாக என்று கண்டகோபாலன் ஒப்பமிட்டுள்ளார். மதுரையும் ஈழமும் பாண்டியன் முடித்தலையும் கொண்டருளிய ஸ்ரீகுலோத்துங்க சோழ தேவனின் 29 ஆவது ஆட்சியாண்டில் செங்காட்டுக் கோட்டத்துப் பெருங்குன்றத்துக் கண்ணந்தை குப்பநேன் என்பவர் தன்மீகரமுடையார்க்குச் சிறுகாலைச் சந்தி விளக்குகளுக்குப் பழங்காக இரண்டும் பசு நாலும் திருவுண்ணாழிகையிடம் வழங்கினார் என்று ஒரு கல்வெட்டு குறிப்பிடுகிறது.
ருத்ரோத்காரி வருஷம் மார்கழி மாதம் எனத் தொடங்கும் மற்றோர் கல்வெட்டில் நூற்று நாற்பது சபையாரும் மூன்று கோயில் தானத்தாரும் திருப்பணிப்பிள்ளை அதிகாரியார் மல்லு நாயக்கரும் மணிமங்கலமுடையார்களும் கூடி, தன்மீஸ்வரமுடைய நாயனார் திருப்பள்ளி எழுச்சிக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்கின்றனர். பல்வேறு சாதியார் இவ்விழாவுக்குப் பொருளுதவி புரிய (சிறப்பு செய்ய ) உடன்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
சீரங்கநாதர் ஆன யாதவராயருடைய 17 ஆவது ஆட்சியாண்டில் தன்மீஸ்வரமுடையார் கோயிலில் ஸ்ரீருத்ரர், ஸ்ரீமாகேச்வரர், கைக்கோளர். கைக்கோள முதலிகள் ஒன்றுகூடி மன்னனார் திருநாள் புதுமையாக நிகழ்த்த விரும்பினர். முன்னதாக ஒருத்தரை வெட்ட அவர் இறந்துபட்ட விபரமும் கல்வெட்டில் உள்ளது. 200 குழி நிலம் திருக்காப்பினுக்கு விடப்படுகிறது.
முதலாம் இராசராசனுடைய சிற்றரசனான பஞ்சநதி லட்சுமணன் புதல்வர்கள் இக்கோயிலில் இரண்டு விளக்குகள் வைக்க ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளனர் (278 of 1898).
இதே ஊரில் உள்ள கைலாசநாதர் கோயில் கல்வெட்டு சகம் 1450 எனலாம். சில மண்டபங்களை ஏற்படுத்தியும் தோப்புச்சாலை, மரம் உண்டாக்கியும் பயிர் செய்யவும் மேலே குறிப்பிட்ட சிந்தையதேவ மகாராஜாவே ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளார். வண்டுவராபதி கோயிலில் கங்கராஜாவின் மண்டபம், கயிலாசநாதர் கோயிலில் நரசயர் மண்டபம், தன்மீச்சரமுடையார் கோயிலில் சிந்த இராஜாவின் மண்டபம், வீற்றிருந்த பெருமாளுக்குக் குமார வஸப்பர் மண்டபம் எனப் பல மண்டபங்கள் கல்வெட்டில் உள்ளன. இம்மண்டபங்களையும் தோப்புச் சாலை மரங்களையும் பேணுவதற்கு வருடத்திற்கு 24 பணமும் வழங்கப்பட்டது. சந்தைக்குப்பம் என்ற ஊரவரைக் கட்டளை இடச் செய்யப்பட்டது. பண்டிராசாக்கள் சந்தான பரம்பரையும் நடத்தக் கடவோம் என்று இதிலும் வருகிறது.
