24th November 2019.
The visit to this Sri Kamala Narayana Perumal temple was a part of  Pallava  and Chozha period temples Visit scheduled on 24th November 2019. Mr Kesavan, a student and a History enthusiast gave a list of temples to be visited with important details in advance. Since this temple name was mentioned as the Village name, inquired the locals about this temple. They guided to this temple. When we expected and old temple in a sprawling space, the temple was new and it is adjacent to a house.

Moolavar : Sri Kamala Narayana Perumal.

Some of the salient features of this temple are…
The temple is facing east with a balipedam and Garudan are in front. The temple consists of sanctum, arthamandapam and a small mukha mandapam. HISTORY
This Village was gifted to Brahmins and called as Kamalanarayana Chathurvedi Mangalam.  And Vishu here is also called as Kamala Narayana Perumal. As per the inscriptions his place came under Jayangonda Chozhamandalathu,  Kumizhi Nattu Kayar.

The original temple is believed to be built during 8th Century Pallava period and latter rebuilt during Chozha period. The temple was completely renovated and there is no trace of antiquity. To our surprise we found two stones with Chozha period inscriptions are  placed on the top of the side wall. The width of the inscription stone was cut to match the width of the wall. The fate of the old inscription and pillars are not known.
