ARCHITECTURE
Since the original temple was completely destroyed, a new temple was built during recent years on the same site. Since the present structure is of temporary in nature, no architecture styles are followed.
HISTORY AND INSCRIPTIONS
The original temple was little back side under tree. Based on the adhisthana stone, the temple was constructed on a pada bandha adhisthanam with three patta Kumudam. Granite, Laterite and sand stones are used. We are not sure of super structure above the sanctum sanctorum.
The 9th to 10th Century Tamil inscriptions are found on the granite and sand stones. From these and the iconography of the Perumal, the original temple might have been constructed latter Pallava or Early Chozha Period.
