Sri Jadamuneeswarar Temple / ஸ்ரீ ஜடாமுனீஸ்வரர் கோயில், Manapakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

This is one of the Grama Devdha  Temples built on the banks of the holy river Adyar, after it comes through the Meenambakkam airport, at Manapakkam, an old settlement in Chennai metropolitan area. The temple was built during end of 20th Century.

Some of the salient features of this temple are...
The temple is facing North  in a small shrine. Jadamuneeswarar’s stucco image of on the top of the front mandapam. In sanctum sanctorum Stucco image of Jada Muneeswarar and a Stone image on the floor. Moolavar is with a grace full look..அருள் பார்வையுடன்

This temple exists from ancient times, but not in the present shape. As per the old Lady who does the pooja, Jada Muneeswarar was in the trunk of a banyan tree, the banks of an eri’s bund. Now the band has been converted as a linking road of Manapakkam and Gerukambakkam. Slowly the temple was built with a stucco image of Sri Jadamuneeswarar. Actually Jadamuneeswarar is a Grama Deity, who gaurds / protects the Village.

POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
Apart from regular poojas, the Villagers do pongal, and offer to Jada Muneeswarar when their wishes are fulfilled.  Annual festival will be conducted on Chithra Pournami day with 3 times pooja and yagam. Annadhanam will also be served on that day.

HOW TO REACH
This temple is about 2.5 KM off from Chennai – Bangalore via Porur - Poonamallee and MIOT International Hospital.
The temple is 3.8 KM from Chennai Trade Centre, 6.5 KM from Porur Junction, 7.5 KM from Guindy, 10.5 KM from Koyambedu and  20.5 KM from Chennai Central.
Nearest Railway Station is Guindy.
