The visit to this Mahavira Tirthankara at Mel Ayanambakkam was a part of Shiva Temples and Jain’s sculptures visit planned on 30th January 2022, after lifting the Covid 19, Sunday Lock down.
This Mahavira Tirthankara is installed in front of a house on the next street of Sri Yetteeswarar Shiva Temple. The Mahaveerar is installed along a Nagar facing East.
The Mahaveer Tirthankara is in arthapadmasanam. Mukkudai is shown above his head. Srivatsam is shown on his chest. Whisk bearers are shown on both sides of the Tirthankara. A Thiruvasi is shown on back of his head. The ashoka creepers are shown above the thiruvasi. Three Simhas / Lions are shown on the pedestal. It seems that Mahavirar Tirthankara was reworked.
HOW TO REACHThe Temple is 6.6 KM from Koyambedu Metro station, 8 KM from Koyambedu, CMBT bus terminus, 10 KM from Poonamallee, and 13 KM from Chennai Central.Nearest Railway station is Koyambedu Metro station.
