SRI VEERABHADRA SWAMY TEMPLE. AT KALALE, IN MYSURU DISTRICT KARNATAKA.

23rd June 2019.
The visit to this small  temple was a part of Karnataka Temples Heritage Visit. On the way to Sri Lakshmikantha Swamy Temple, happened to see a Hero stone of the left side of this small temple with a stucco image of Shiva Linga on the top.

Actually there is Deity inside the sanctum, instead there are 4 hero stones installed and they are under worship. In addition to this there were about 20 Hero stones installed behind the temple. Usually the hero stones erected on the spot where the hero was died or installed  near a Temple and also the  Hero stone is not worshiped as a moola deity.  But we had seen this sort of temples in Krishnagiri District, which belongs to Kurumbar Community. It was their practice that the Hero stones are erected in a common place. The same procedure is followed here also. Hence it was told that this Veerabhadra Swamy temple may belongs to Kurumbar Community.

HOW TO REACH:
This temple is about 2 KM off Mysuru – Ooty Road from Kalale Gate Village. .
An arch for the Sri Lakshmikantha Swamy Temple at Kalale Gate is erected on the Main Road.  From there this temple is about 2 KM.
About 10 KM from Nanjangudu and 29 KM from Mysuru.
