The Visit to this temple was a part of the Pallava & Chozha period temples between Kalpakkam to Pulipurakoil, scheduled on 01st December 2019. After the Visit to Pallava Period Natham, Parameswaramangalam, Sri Jambukeswarar Temple, on the way to Sri Kailasanathar Temple, Visited this Sowmya Dhamodhara Perumal temple.

Some of the salient features of this temple are…
The temple is facing west with an entrance. Pallava period squatting lion pillars are installed as the guardians. Garudan and balipedam are in front of sanctum sanctorum. Moolavar Sri Sowmya Dhamodhara Perumal is in standing posture with Sridevi and Bhudevi. Also Sannadhi for Anjaneyar ( both bas-relief and idol ), Andal and 12 Alwars. The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum, arthamandapam and a mukha mandapam.
HISTORY
It is believed that this temple was constructed by the Pallava King Nirupathungavarman ( 869 – 880 AD) along with a Shiva Temple in the same Village. Latter this temple was reconstructed and jinortharam was conducted in 2013. The renovation expertise was offered by R.E.A.C.H foundation under the leadership of Mr Sathyamurthy. During excavation for renovation, urchavar was unearthed and taken away by the Tamil Nadu Kanchipuram archaeology department.
POOJA
One kala pooja is conducted and Abhishekam will be done for moolavar on Saturdays, Thiruvona Nakshatram and New moon days, Punarpoosa nakshatra day to Andal.
LEGEND:
Vasthu problem will get solved after praying to Thayar Sri Vasthulakshmi. People with vasthu problems in their houses used to throng this temple for remedy.

Since oru kala pooja is conducted, the temple will be kept opened between 10.00 hrs to 10.30 hrs. Request the devotees to conform with Bhattar before going to this temple.
