The visit to this Pandaveswar, Dharmeshwar and Paranjothi Amman temples, near Kanchipuram east Railway station was a part of 2020 Maha Shivaratri Temples Visit, on 21st February 2020. After Thirukalimedu Sri Sathyanatheswarar Temple’s Visit, our next destination was to this temple.
The 18th Century Sri Sivagnana Swamikal had written the sthalapurana of Pandavecharam in his Kanchipuranam. Though this temple may not be exactly matches with the temple mentioned, the characters and story of Mahabharatha is common for all the temples. The original Text in Tamil goes like this...

பேரின்பச் சாக்கியனார் கல்லெறிக்கும் பேறுதவு
வார்தங்கும் வீராட்ட காச வரவிதுவால்
சீர்தங்கு தென்பால் திருப்பாண்ட வேச்சரமாம்
கார்தங்கு மிஞ்சிக் கடிநகரங் கட்டுரைப்பாம்
தருமம் பயந்த தநயன் முதலோர்
உருகெழுவெங் காட்டின் உரோமசேன யாதித்
திருமுனிவர் தம்மோடுந் தீர்த்தெமலா மாடக்
கருதி நடந்தார் கழியாத காதலார்
அங்கங் கிலிங்கம் நிறுவி அருச்சித்துப்
பங்கந் துமிக்கும் பரம்பொருளைப் போற்றிசைத்துச்

தெங்கம் பொழில்சூழ் திருக்காஞ்சி நண்ணினார்

அன்னவற்றின் தென்பால் கயிலாயம் அவ்வரைப்பின்
நன்னர்க் கயிலாய நாதன் றனைநிறுவி
மன்னுந் திசைக்கிறைமை பெற்றான் மருவலார்க்
கின்னல்புரி முத்தலைவேல் ஈசானன் என்பவே

Some of the salient features of this temple are....
The temple is facing east with and Entrance Arch. Paranjothi Amman’s stucco image is on the top of the arch. Separate sannadhis for Sri siddhi Vinayagar, Sri Paranjothi Amman, Throwpathi / Draupati Amman, Dharmaraja, Pandaveswara, Sikandeesar and Dharmeshwara. The Nagars are under a peepal tree. Stucco mages of Krishna with Bhama & Rukmani, Paranjothi Amman and Shiva with Parvati are on the top of the mandapa. All the three sannadhis are constructed in a row.
Draupati Amman is treated as the main temple of this complex with balipedam and Dwajasthambam. Stucco image of Draupati is on top of the entrance.
Pandaveswara Shiva linga is kept along with Sri Vinayagar. It was told that both Dharmeshwara and Pandaveswara Shiva Lingas are found near the Railway track / Gate. It is believed that both belongs to Pallava Period. There is a kanthu infront of Shiva Temple.

Panchapandavas installed and worshiped lord Shiva at Kanchipuram during their exile.

The temple will be kept open between 06.30 hrs to 11.30 hrs and 16.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs.
HOW TO REACH:
The temple is on the Railway Station Road, ( Periya Kanchipuram ), East Railway Station
1.2 KM from Kanchipuram Bus stand, 2.1 KM from Kanchipuram Railway Station, 31 KM from Arakkonam Railway Junction and 80 KM from Chennai Central Station.
Nearest Railway Station is Kanchipuram and Nearest Railway Junction is Arakkonam.
