Shri Adinath Jain Temple / ஸ்ரீ ஆதிநாதர் ஜீனாலயம், Korakkottai, Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu.

The Visit to this Shri Adinath Digambar Jain Temple at Korakkottai was a part of Uzhavarapani  at Kovilampoondi Jain Temple organised by the Tamil Jains, Ahimsa walk  Group  on 2nd July 2021.  The Adinatha Tirthankara belongs to 


The main Deity :  Sri Adinatha Tirthankara.

Some of the salient features of this Jinalaya are...
Jinalaya is facing east with a 5 tier Rajagopuram. Balipeedam and Manasthamabam are after the Rajagopuram. Dwarapalakas in flat stone are in front of Mukha mandapam.  In Sanctum Sanctorum Shri Adinatha Tirthankara is in sitting posture. Adinatha is with elongated earlobes. A Mahara thorana is shown on the back side of his head. Two whisk bearers are on both sides. Creepers are shown as floral designs. A Thindu is also shown on the back side of the  Tirthankara.  

Metal images are in the Maha mandapam. The Parivara sannidhis for chakreshwari, Dharma Devi and, another shrine and an unfinished idol are in the praharam.  



ARCHITECTURE
The Jinalaya consists of Sanctum Sanctorum, ardha mandapam and Mukha mandapam.  A Dravida Two tier Vimanam is on the top of sanctum sanctorum. Tirthankaras are in the Tala and Greeva koshtas. The Total temple was reconstructed in Bricks and cement concrete.

This temple is 29 KM from Chetpet, 18 KM from Vandavasi, 43 KM from Uthiramerur, 46 KM from Melmaruvathur, 58 KM from Kanchipuram, 79 KM from Chengalpattu and 140 KM from Chennai.
Nearest Railway Station is Melmaruvathur.
