NADUKARKAL, SATI STONES AND MEMORIAL STONES, NEAR NEDUNGUNAM, IN THIRUVANNAMALAI DISTRICT, TAMIL NADU.

26th May 2019.
After the dharshan of Sri Periyanayagi Amman at Devikapuram, we started returning to Kanchipurm. We tried our luck to see Sri Yaga Ramar temple at Nedungunam. But the temple was found closed.  We continued our travel to Kanchipuram. Just 2 to 3 KM after Nedungunam  happen to see these Nadukarkal installed in the field on the left side of the road. Of the three Nadukarkal one was found half broken. The three Nadukarkal,, Both Sati and Memorial stones belongs to  15th to 17th Century Vijayanagara Nayak period.

MEMORIAL STONE
This memorial stone is in worship. The man is standing in samabanga posture  with folded hands. A half dress is shown below his waist. Ears are shown elongated.   The lady is shown in threebanga posture with  head tuft on her left side. While her left hand is hanging, the right hand is in the up direction.

LOCATION: Latitude 12 deg 28' 37.02 and longitude 79 deg 23' 22.21 


SATI STONE
In Sati stone the Hero is holding a bow in his left hand and a sword in right hand. The hero and wife are standing in threebanga standing posture. Both Hero and her wife head tuft are shown on their left side. The hero’s wife left hand is hanging and right hand is in raised position. The other details could not be identified since the stone was heavily weathered.
