SRI THAMBIRATTI AMMAN TEMPLE, INGUR NEAR PERUNDURAI, TAMIL NADU.

This temple is a part of Kongu Temples, near Perundurai in Erode District.  This temple is a guarding and Kula theivam for Eenjan Kula Vellalar community, a sub section of Vellala Gounders of Kongu region.

Presiding deity : Sri Thambiratti Amman.

Some of the important features of this temple are...
The temple is facing north with a Deepa sthambam and a small empty mandapa. Dwajasthambam is after the entrance. The sanctum sancorum consists of sanctum, antarala, arthamandapam and a open Muka mandapam. Simha vahana is in the Mukamandapam. In the mukamandapa on the right is the Vinayagar sannadhi with Dhakshinamurthy and Brahmi as Koshta theivams. The gate guardians Neelakandan and Neeli  are at the entrance to arthamandapam.

The sanctum is on a raised level with Shanthi Sakthi and Sisira Sakthi as Dwarabalakis. A two tier Vimana is on the sanctum. In Koshtam Brahmi, Samundi, Vaishnavi, Kaumari and Maheswari.  In the prakaram sannadhi for Saptha Kanniyars, Pulikuthikal and loose sculptures, Chariot and 2 stucco horses.

As per the 1890 AD Inscription on Deepasthambam, the old damaged deepasthambam erected by Chembarasi Goundar, was replaced by his grand sons, Vellaimuthu Goundan, Nallak Goundan & Vellaimuthu Goundan.

Festivals like Ezhuthingal seer, Chitra Pournami, Aadi Friday, are celebrated in a grand manner. Pournami pooja is celebrated with chariot procession.

The temple will be kept opened between 06.00 hrs to 11.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs.

The temple is about 6.5 KM from Perundurai on Perundurai to Chennimalai bus route.
The nearest Railway station is Ingur, where the local trains will stop and about 1.5 KM. Erode Railway station is about 27 KM.
