Sri Aladi Karuppar Temple / Aaladi Karuppu Temple / ஸ்ரீ ஆலடி கருப்பர் திருக்கோயில், Visalur, Pudukkottai District, Tamil Nadu.

Even-though the visit to this Karuppar was not planned, Visited this temple, which very close to Visalur Shiva temple. This Heritage Visit to temples around Keeranur in Pudukkottai District, organized by “Yaaooyakay – யாஊயாகே” group on 2nd and 3rd, October 2021.
 


This temple is at Visalur on the Keeranur – Puliyur – Killukottai road. This temple belongs to 32 Villages around this place. The temple is facing south with an entrance arch on the west side and a small pond in front. The fencing from arch to the temple is tied with many bells. These bells are tied by the devotees as a part of thanks giving / nerthikadan to Sri Aaladi Karuppar. Stucco image of Aaldi Karuppu, Vinayagar and Murugan are on the front side top of the temple. Stucco images of Horses and a stone Elephant are in the prakaram. In the sanctum Aaladi Karuppu’s  image / Idol / stone without any carving or image  is kept at the centre with stone horses on both sides.

POOJAS AND CELEBRATIONS
The devotees from foreign countries will also participate in the annual function. Annual function will be held in the month of Panguni. Celebrations will also be there in the Month of aadi. During annual festival, about 200 goats / sheeps will be sacrificed. These will be cooked ( only with salt and no masala will be added ) and distributed in the temple itself.
  




HOW TO REACH:
The temple Can be reached through Pudukkottai- Keeranur-Kunnandar Kovil – Visalur. The temple is on the Keeranur – Puliyur – Killukottai Road.
The temple is 13 KM from Keeranur, 42 KM from Pudukkottai, 35 KM from Tiruchirappalli  and 353 KM from Chennai.
Nearest Railway Junction is Tiruchirappalli.
